Firehole Technologies Intern is a World Class Mountain Biker and Student
Laramie, WY - July 7, 2008
Eli Krahenbuhl, intern with Firehole Technologies, a developer of innovative simulation
technologies for composite materials and structures, is ranked 3rd out of 112 professional
downhill mountain bikers in the US, according to USA Cycling. During his races he
routinely competes with the best in the world including the current world champion
and top world cup contenders. He is supported by the top bicycle manufacturer in

Krahenbuhl, a native of Cheyenne, Wyoming has been racing for 7 years, with the
2008 season being his 4th as a professional. He is a mechanical engineering senior
at the University of Wyoming’s College of Engineering and Applied Science.
Krahenbuhl’s commitment to excellence extends beyond the mountain trails he
rides and into the classroom where he has maintained a 4.0 GPA. He was recently
chosen as one of Tau Beta Pi Association’s 2008 Laureates.
“My initial interest in composites came from cycling but I am seeing more
high tech applications through my internship at Firehole,” said Krahenbuhl.
“Everyone at Firehole is very supportive of my racing career which motivates
me to work even harder. They really stand by their "work hard - play hard"
