Firehole Technologies and NASA Give Students Hands-On Experience
Laramie, WY - June 6, 2008
Firehole Technologies Inc. (www.fireholetech.com), a developer of innovative simulation technologies for composite materials and structures, has partnered with NASA and the Wyoming Space Grant Consortium to give UW students hands-on experience in the Space Industry this summer.
“There is a shortage of quality graduates in the science and engineering disciplines these days. Being engineers ourselves, we believe in taking an active approach to solving problems including employee shortages. We have pursued growing employees from within since the early days of Firehole,” said Jerad Stack, CEO of Firehole Technologies Inc.
“Since Firehole was begun by students we feel we have an understanding of their needs and desires. We offer interesting projects and the students will learn practical and applicable lessons. Our interns are given many responsibilities utilizing innovative methods and cutting edge technologies.”
Dr. Michele Stark, Wyoming NASA Space Grant Consortium Associate Director said, “I think this is a wonderful program for our students. We no longer have to direct our students to go to California or Colorado where they can find jobs. They have the opportunity to experience first hand, jobs in highly technical fields while staying in Wyoming.”
The students are Tony Allais of Rock Springs, WY, Brady Adams of Longmont, CO, Chris Adams of Monument, CO, and George James and Eli Krahenbuhl of Cheyenne, WY.
